Talented Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu says that the act of slapping amounts to violence, aggression, disrespect and also to an extent, a controlling nature. "A slap can never be an expression of love whether it involves a parent and child, or a husband and wife, " maintained the actress.

The actress who is known for her versatile roles said that one had to take a stand against women being dis-respected. "It is the need of the hour. Women coming from poor economic conditions are unable to stand up for themselves. They are conditioned and depend on their spouses financially. They have nowhere to go and earn money ; hence they are treated with disrespect and put up with being tortured," she said.

The film revolves around a young couple. One day, the husband slaps the wife in front of guests at a house party. The wife decides to walk out of the marriage. "A slap comes from a place of disrespect and discrimination," added Taapsee.
