Michelin star chef Gordon Ramsay has created a huge furore for killing a goat on a television show on the National Geographic, ‘Gordon Ramsay: Unchartered’. Many social media users trolled the legendary chef for his thoughtless and cruel stunt.
The show follows the chef as he travels across many regions, ‘exploring places, people and flavors the world has to offer’. The series began in Peru and then moved onto New Zealand where the schedule was shot in South Island. Here, the chef aimed to discover the secrets of Maori cooking. In New Zealand, chef Monique Fiso led the way and showed him the edible wild plants, and then sent him to kill a mountain goat. It was Mr. Ramsay’s killing of the goat that raised the hackles of countless people who found the episode cruel and cold-blooded.
The goat was cooked and served with a berry chutney and salad. Many animal lovers called out the iconic chef and criticized Mr. Ramsay for shooting the goat.The comments outlined Mr. Ramsay to be a thoughtless and cruel person, profiting from the fear, misery, suffering and murder of innocent animals. Earlier this year, the chef was also criticized for mocking animal welfare charity, PETA. Mr. Ramsay joked about the organization, calling himself a member and calling it ‘people eating tasty animals’.
