Homo Sapiens: 100,000 Years Ago

Categories:

The discovery of fossils in Morocco in the Jebel Irhoud archaeological site, push back the origins of our species by 100,000 years. The site was found to contain the oldest-known skeletons of modern humans. Anthropologists studying the animal bones from the site, also revealed the menu for our oldest-known Homo sapiens ancestors, 300,000 years ago.
Studies show that our ancestors ate a lot of gazelle, as well as ostrich eggs. While gazelle meat was aplenty, our ancestors also ate the occasional zebra, wild-beast, and the seasonal ostrich egg.
