Tropical Depression 'Imelda' Hits Texas

Ahead of the mega event 'Howdy Modi' due to be held in Houston, Texas in the United States, the weather Gods appear to have another plan. Torrential rains triggered by  a tropical storm have brought the state of Texas to a standstill. The weather conditions have prompted Texas Governor Greg Abbott to declare an emergency in several parts of the state.

Tropical Depression Imelda has led to flooding and power outages, with warnings to people across south-eastern Texas to stay indoors. The Governor said that it happened so quickly that there was no time to prepare for a hurricane, and that authorities had to be concerned with any sort of weather system, that could quickly evolve into a major storm and start a massive downpour.

However, the organizers of the event are upbeat and confident that attendees at the sprawing NRG stadium will have a great experience. Over 1,500 volunteers have been working round the clock to ensure the event is a grand success. U.S. President Trump, high-ranking U.S. officials including governors, members of the Congress and mayors are due to attend the event.
